it will be happening.

Apologies to all the excited people out there.
I know there must have been at least a few of you!

Until further notice,

Upcoming Exhibition

I will be showing a series of works in an upcoming Culture Club group exhibition extravaganza! My art will be featured,
along-side a gaggle of other creatively talented young people.
It's an honour to be part of something like this, and I'm very excited.

Tickets are only $30 (which includes a $20 donation) plus a free drink for the first 100 people through the door!

If you'd like to come down to The Club in Kings Cross this Thursday night to witness some stars in the making, you can grab yourself a ticket here.
And to find out more about the event, go to their facebook page.

Hope to see you there!

unfinished

Lost and out of sorts
completely with a cause.
Leaps from strength to strength
beside me lacks applause.

My confidence is flailing, on the cusp of true parading
when the conscious overrules the rest
and logic comes to reigning.

Give me a new position in the scheme of spectrum tones
the wonderland of colour stands above the mono drones.
The clones of days and moments take away this precious time
that could be used for living and flirting with the line.

The solid dreams of want will make resentment all that's clear
regardless of the common rest, my judgement will adhere.
To what, I do not know, be it comfort or resistance,
love, manipulation or merely an existence?

Hearts are made of muscle, unlikened to emotion,
but mine is tissue paper, wet and almost broken.

Second Exhibition

For the second time, two of my new works are up being exhibited as part of the launch of online magazine, Cosine Vol. 3.

"Cosine is an online magazine consisting of Australian artists showcasing their creative talent to the world. From digital designers to sculptors, photographers to painters, each artist will have a dedicated profile page that will include some of their latest and greatest works in cosine's upcoming Vol. 3."

The latest edition was made live and downloadable last night and features your's truly along with an array of up-and-comers from the Sydney area. (It's downloadable here.)

You can drop down to Pocket Bar in Darlinghurst any time in the next week to check out the talent or purchase yourself a piece of art!

Alternatively, you can contact me if you are interested in purchasing one of the two. And any feedback is more than welcome.

Here are my two pieces. Happy viewing!

My first exhibition!

Last night was the opening of my first little art exhibition.
The two works were hung at 3 Weeds bar in Paddington,
and will be showing for a month.

A great night was had by all, as well as a guest appearance
by a Socceroo, who shall remain unnamed!

The works are up for auction, so if you are in or from the area,
drop in and check them out! Bidding goes for the duration of the month.

You can also contact me to make an offer. I will need your name and email address, the name of the work you would like to bid on,
and the amount you wish to bid.

The pieces are both approximately 100x150cm and are painted
on MDF board.

At the close of the exhibition, the highest bid will be donated to charity and the winning bidder gets to keep the work!

Below are the two works that I painted specifically for this location.
Apologies for the quality of the images..

Hope you like!

A little bit short

The only way I used to know how to write was to rhyme. It used to come so naturally to me. I guess it still would, but my mind is being suffocated. If it could get some air, maybe it would spit something out.

I'm drowning in my daily duties. A bed I have made for myself.
I just need to change the sheets.

I should put a sign outside:
"Advisory words required."

For now, I'm done. In more ways than one.

The little boy told me to hold on tight. But to what, he did not say.

What is this?

Distancing slowly,
ahead, separate entry.
Catching the doors,
faking anonymity.

Sitting and waiting,
eyes scan the room.
Avoiding collision
more difficult soon.

Answering, listening,
differring comments.
Making them sound
like complete separate moments.

Eventual bonding
of left-behind witness,
choosing ignoring
is best in this business.

Regaining togetherness
feels like a blessing,
a hug and a kiss
and I'm never confessing.

Slight mental breakdown.

I don't know what's up with me today but I feel as though all the direction from my life has melted into a murky brown puddle. I'm not sure if I know where I am, or where I'm heading to, what to do next, how to approach the near/immediate future in order to get to the place where the goals I was speaking of yesterday are.

I wish I could exchange the furniture in my house for any other pieces I desire. Example. Swap my couch for any other couch of my liking. Swap an oven for some amazing art. Swap my bedside table for two matching new ones. Regardless of price, style, era, make.

I want a house, mind and wardrobe makeover. Maybe if I revamp my belongings and threads, everything will seem clearer up between my ears. But then I can't do that (to the extent that I would like to) without ample money at my disposal.

Now I need a way to make the money that I require. I could do that through the direction that I want to move my career into, but I'm not there yet, and not even really on the way. I do love the environment that I'm working in at the moment, and the opportunities that it brings along with it, but at the same time, I'd also like to be gaining different knowledge and skills that I'm unable to achieve through my current workplace.

I wish there was a way I could double the time in each day so that I could continue to work where I am, and make money and gain knowledge that way AND offer my time to another place where I could gain the extra bits that I need in order to come nearer to my goals (most probably with minimal pay, if any).

So there's my catch 22.
Want to achieve my goals, need money to do that, want to learn skills necessary to achieve my goals, but won't make money that way. Could keep making money the way that I am, but won't achieve the goals entirely.

Help?

Goals and Souls.

I spent some time thinking about achieving goals. That's my aim. I've got some pretty solid ones, and want them achieved by the end of the year.

This year has already been a big one. Alot of changes still on the cards and hopefully some realisation too. This may sound cryptic, but my mind is a little bit overloaded with what I want to say. I think I'm getting there.

Here are some new words...

Rounding the following up in an instant
is likened to using a straight-ended instrument.
I don't know when actual comes into now
but the feeling is brewing and turning me round.

It seems like the future is reaching far back
and yanking me forward to launch it's attack
I'm hoping the outcome is upward instead,
for upsides make downward feel worse than the dread.

To-ing and fro-ing in mindless relations,
breaking and mending my false instigations.
Grip onto bending the pole into loops
and standing on waves
and drifting through hoops.

They won't know the answers,
those men in the mind,
they speak to me in riddles
while leaving behind
the valuable writings
from scholars gone by
who did know and try to be
open inside.

Bring on the focus and listen intently
learn from the best and roll in a Bentley.
Do all the things you are striving to find
forget any snakes that will leave you behind.
Skip to the ladders and lift yourself up,
So at ends you will find yourself holding the cup.

Not yet at all

I don't mean to falter;
I don't want to fail.
My mind is not there yet;
My heart would derail.

I can't show the reasons;
I can't hide the ways.
I really don't mean it,
I hold the delays.

I want to see past this;
I want to gain praise.
My future is bright, still,
My aim sparkles glaze.

(lounge) room with a view

Wouldn't it be nice to see this from your couch?

I don't think I would mind.

Wallpaper like no other.

This year I ventured out to the DesignEx trade fair for the first time. It was quite overwhelming, with ALOT of interesting things to see, but one stand in particular, I cannot stop telling people about!

Eurowalls has introduced the 'Stone Range' of wallpaper. This is like nothing I've ever seen before, and really really excites me! It's a German product which is thin and flexible and adheres to walls, columns, ledges, etc – just like wallpaper.

But, wait for it, it looks and feels like genuine stone! It comes in sandstone, slate, travertine and concrete. It is truly unique and special and I would be fooled into thinking it was the real thing.

Apart from being completely out of any price range near to mine, I am officially in love.
I want to sandstone my study!

Check it.

Chilli or no?

Who here eats chilli? Personally, I don't mind a bit of heat, but I mean the kind of heat that warms your mouth and then leaves you with nothing more than a slight humming reminder of what was there before.

NOT the kind of heat that smacks you upside the face then chases the saliva around your mouth, over your tongue and all the way down your throat so that breathing becomes a difficulty, liquid starts dripping from all orephesus and you inhale - not for breath, but to temporarily alleviate the painful burn of the exhale on your lips.

This is what my man, Zaz likes to experience. And here is a photo of the chilli mixture he makes (pre-blending) which he eats by the tablespoon.

This is a large blender.
He is loopy if you ask me, but that's why I love him!

Foods, moods and dudes.

What is the function
of tipping and dunking;
the peak of the rupture
alone at a luncheon.

The windows to inside
blow out without warning,
then deflate with pins, my excuse now just boring.

I don't know the reason
my world keeps on crashing;
re-booting then memory
kicks into action.

Then sorry and dumbfounded,
tail between legs,
I throw myself back
and I start then to beg,

With "I'm sorry"s and "honestly,
I have no idea,
why laughing and joking
has turned into tears."

The crazy has got me
- re-opened the door -
to the nonsense of downing them;
2 and soon 4.

He stays like my rock
only quivering once,
understandably so,
as I total the fronts.

The best of the best,
he is here with me now.
Ever smiling, my buddy
Beans, peanuts, and mo'.

TILES, my loves.

Tiles make me happy.
Ceramic tiles especially.

The imperfect edges, combined with bold colours, and earthy textural variations makes my fingertips sing. I feel myself light up when I walk into a tile showroom, eager to jump right in and touch everything!

Here are some snaps of some beauties I found today. More to come in a later post, I'm sure.

Are these scales not AH-MAZING?! I'd use them the other way up like a mermaid's tail.

Little penny-sized rounds with metal edging.

Available in great colours. Interesting Shape..

Amazing colour range available in these hexagonal beauties.

These geometric tiles piece together like a puzzle, creating amazing shapes and designs.

Gorgeous imperfect square mosaic.

When laid, these look b.e.a.utiful!

Nice shape!

I am in LOVE with these micro-mosaics. Teeny little squares. Heaps of colours. YUMMMM!

Very textural. Nice effect.
Ciao for now x

As one

Our hearts beat in sync
while you lay naked on the mattress.
We lie and we think
about the stories of hours past.

Your fingers touch my hair
along the gap between my ear and neck.
I inhale and stare;
harmonic gentle creature.

You reach for the phone;
Existence defined by whens and whos.
When we are all alone
the pressure tends to stop.

Greatness.

beautiful flowers and yum.

Some yummy images for you to pour over.. I'm loving dreamy bunches of flowers at the moment. And succulents! Bought some of those purple cabbage-looking things a couple of days ago. Looking beautiful in my antique watering can of a vase!

And a pic of my anniversary rose...

I also decided that my balcony was in desperate need of a makeover. And seeing as yesterday was Garage Sale HEAVEN in my lovely suburb of Bondi, I thought it would be the perfect day for it. I jumped on my bicycle and, lo and behold, the first one I came across was run by a lovely man selling all kinds of potted beauties!

Here's what I came home with...

Next garage sale I found had the perfect little bench to complete my balcony makeover!

Now I can't wait for the actual balcony itself to be redone!
